Nestled in a serene orchid garden just outside Shillong, the Ever Living Museum is a heartfelt tribute to Meghalaya’s tribal heritage. Curated by a passionate local, Mr Kyntiewbor War, the museum showcases an eclectic collection of traditional weapons, musical instruments, bamboo crafts, and rare coins from the Khasi, Jaintia, and Garo communities. With its stone museum and lush garden of wild orchids and fruits, it offers a multisensory journey through the region’s cultural and natural legacy.

  • It is located in Mawshbuit, East Khasi Hills, approx. 9–10 km from Shillong city center.
  • Local buses and shared taxis are also available from Laitumkhrah or Bada Bazaar.
  • Shared sumos and local taxis heading towards Happy Valley or Laitkor may drop passengers nearby but may not go all the way to the museum
  • The museum is well signposted and easy to reach within 30 minutes from central Shillong.

  • The distance from Shillong Airport is approximately 38 km.
  • The distance from Guwahati Airport is approximately 126 km.
  • The best time to visit is during October to March for pleasant weather and garden blooms.
  • Visiting hours are from 11 AM to 6 PM in the summer and 11 AM to 5 PM during the winter.
