How to Get There

  • The sanctuary lies across the Simsang River, near Siju Cave. A short trek through forested trails leads to the sanctuary entrance.
  • From Baghmara (the nearest town, 33 km), hire a local cab or shared sumo. The route winds through forested terrain and takes about 1.5 hours.
  • From Shillong (450 km), take NH62 via Nongstoin and Baghmara. The journey takes around 10–11 hours, best done in a private vehicle or overnight sumo.
  • From Guwahati (216 km), travel via Goalpara and Dudhnoi, then continue south to Baghmara. Expect a 6–7 hour drive.
